5th Annual 29 Palms Mystery Dinner Nov. 4 Murder and mayhem will strike when sleazy local land developer Bill York gets more than he bargained for at his 60th birthday celebration. This one is special with the events centered in 29 Palms and references to places you know and love. Think you have what it takes to solve the murder before dinner ends? Enjoy laughs, prizes, a delicious dinner and, of course, birthday cake. Proceeds will help the Friends fund the next Summer Reading Program and other community events in your local library. Doors open at 5:30. Event begins at 6 pm sharp. For more information or to purchase tickets, please call Tina at 760-219-3405 or Debbie at 760-401-0553.
Thank you to the sponsors of this exciting community event.
Happy 10th Anniversary! The Friends of the Twentynine Palms Library is celebrating its 10th year as a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit this October. As an active advocacy organization since the 1990s, we continue to be dedicated to keeping our local library open as a valued resource for the community, but we need your support. We are looking for community volunteers who can give us a few hours to help with book sales, post on social media, or help out with special events. If you have an hour or two to spare each month and care about keeping our library a vital source for the community please contact us at email@example.com or stop by at our monthly board meeting in the library on the second Tuesday of the month at 5 pm. We are also looking to grow our board and would be happy to talk with individuals who love libraries and would like to help us up our game.
Lots of Free Stuff Books, e-books, craft kits, story time, tutoring, literacy assistance, digital and in-person programs - they're all available at your local library for free. Stop in and talk to the staff or visit the County Library site for the latest info.
Digital Resources Did you know you can download books from the County's digital collection onto your tablet? You can also access many of the County's online databases and get a digital library card from the comfort of your home. Need to complete a job application or download or print a legal form, use the library's computers. Don't miss out. Visit our How To page for directions or the County Library site.
