The Friends of the Twentynine Palms Library is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose sole mission is to help preserve our local library as a resource for the community. Libraries in small towns and rural areas like Morongo Basin do a lot of heavy lifting. Yes, they circulate books, but they also provide crucial internet access for job seekers and students. They offer programs for children that capture their imaginations and fuel their desire to learn. They offer shelter in bad weather and lesson isolation for adults.

Tax dollars do not meet all the annual expenses of the library.

We owe a debt of thanks to everyone in the community who has helped our mission by supporting our fundraising efforts. Our book sales and events continue to grow in popularity and provide significant income that we are able to channel into new books on the shelves as well as events like the Summer Reading Program for children and adults.

By supporting the Friends, you are supporting our collective local community. You are supporting local education and helping to enrich the lives of everyone in 29 Palms.

It takes a community to make a community, and we need you to help us keep 29 Palms strong.

We accept support in the form of gently used books and DVDs as well as tax-deductible monetary donations. We also accept donations of Time. We are looking for community volunteers who can give us a few hours to help with book sales, post on social media, or help out with special events. If you have an hour or two to spare each month and care about keeping our library a vital source for the community please contact us at or stop by at our monthly board meeting in the library on the second Tuesday of the month at 5 pm.
