Download eBooks to Your Tablet

If you have a tablet you can borrow digital library books using the Overdrive app. Overdrive is a Rakuten company that offers the service for free. This is how it works

• Download the Overdrive app from your device's app store.

• Open the Overdrive app and follow the prompts to sign in (or sign up) using your library card, Facebook, or a free Overdrive account.

• Using www.overdrive.com open the San Bernardino County Library's digital collection.

• Find an ebook to borrow and select it

• Find the book you have borrowed on your checkout page under your account

Access Online Databases

• Go to the County library home page www.sbclib.org

• Click on the Research and e-content tab on the menu bar

• Three tabs will appear: Digital library, Online Databases, Internet Searches

• Click on the Digital Library to access ebooks, audiobooks, music and videos.

• Once in, click on a source. You will be prompted to enter your library card number and pin

• Click on Online databases to access a wide variety of content. You may need to open an account for some of the databases. Ancestry may only be accessed from the library itself

It's Free! Using Ancestry.com (you must be in the library to use this resource)

• You will need your library card and your personal PIN number. If you have forgotten your PIN, ask the librarian to reset it for you.
• Enter the library and find an open computer.
• Log on with your library card number and personal PIN.
• Once online, click on the Ancestry Library icon and then the search button.
• Enter the information about your relative
• Happy hunting.

Note: Each patron may use the computers for up to 1 hour per day.
